Becoming "Sugar Spies" by learning the many names of sugar on ingredients list and rethinking total/added sugars on nutrition labels. Desired outcome is to have participants recognize different forms of sugar and how much sugar is in their food.
Eating Fruits and Vegetables provide health benefits at any age.
Participants will identify important reasons to get enough vegetables in their diet. Health benefits of various vegetables will be discussed. Participants will explore how they can overcome challenges involved in trying new kinds of vegetables...or in eating more vegetables in general. A question and answer session will follow.
Feeding the Gulf Coast is helping our community learn about nutrition. This program is all about making learning fun and respectful. We believe that when learning is enjoyable and sensitive to people's feelings and experiences, it can help us make better choices about what we eat. Let's learn together!
